Replacement dwelling and stables conversion.
Four bedroom new build, replacement dwelling and stables conversion set in greenbelt and a designated ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’.
The volume of existing structures (house, two cabins and a carport) were added to determine the volume of the replacement dwelling. This was designed accordingly, providing a contemporary home with open plan space linking lounge, dining and kitchen. Large sliding screens allow the kitchen and foyer to be separated when required.
Upstairs, each bedroom has an en suite and balcony, for enjoying elevated views of the picturesque setting. The form of the dwelling was designed to maximise the primary views of the field at the rear. Also, to provide an external covered area for outside entertaining, achieved by shooting the first floor south west bedroom beyond the ground floor lounge.
The stables is ancillary to the dwelling, providing a home office, media room, gym and sauna.
Planning permission was secured in 2023. The technical design will be commencing soon.
